About our services...
Family Service
This is a once a month service especially designed to include children and young people. It contains all the usual features of a church service – songs, a Bible reading, prayers, a talk – but each element is tailored to the needs of an all-age congregation. 'Anniversary candles' are shared as part of the worship and those who have been baptised in the church are invited to celebrate the anniversary of their baptism. The whole service lasts around 40 minutes.
There are family services at Aldermaston, Beenham, Midgham and Woolhampton. Please see service listings for further details.
Family Communion
This service is also designed to be especially 'family friendly' and is shorter than our other services of Holy Communion, lasting less than an hour.
Holy Communion
This service is slightly more traditional in feel, with hymns and two Bible readings and a sermon. It lasts about an hour.
Holy Communion BCP
This is the Prayer Book communion in the language of the 17th Century. At Aldermaston this is an 8am service without hymns, and at Beenham it is the main service once every other month.
Morning Worship
This is a service of hymns, bible readings, prayer and a sermon, usually led by one of our lay-ministers. It does not include communion.
Benefice service
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month all six churches join together for a service of Family Communion. The venue rotates – see monthly listings.
Evensong
A traditional evening service from the Book of Common Prayer is held three times a year at Wasing.
