Notes for your diary:

Plant Sale 2019

It is late afternoon on Bank Holiday Monday, two days after the wonderful Plant Sale in the church. I have spent the afternoon in my garden giving new homes to the many plants I purchased at the plant sale on Saturday. My garden now has a dedicated area of plants from the sale which will be a fond reminder to me throughout the year of the kindness and support shown to the church by everyone involved.

£928 was raised on the day and this has since risen to almost £1,000 which is a fantastic amount and will be used for ongoing maintenance to the church.

It never ceases to amaze me how many very kind people willingly give their support to the church in so many ways.
• Sue Rudling and her team of happy workers – you know who you are.
• The 100s of plants that were generously donated that were taken from cuttings of plants from gardens in Brimpton and surrounding areas. This is not something that happens overnight and requires planning, patience and perseverance to keep them alive and thriving until the big day.
• The people who coordinated the wonderful cooks who supplied delicious cakes to have with coffee during the morning and those who helped serve.
• Those who donated the many raffle prizes which helped to boost the takings for the day.
• At of course the public who came and bought plants and raffle tickets and enjoyed friendship over coffee and cake.
A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart, to each and every one of you.

Brimpton Fête, 29th June 2019

Calling all knitters

There will be a stall for knitted Teddy Bears, and we need as many different knitted bears as possible!

If you have odds and ends of wool in your bottom drawer and wonder what to do with them, here is the answer. Get out your needles and knit a Bear for Brimpton.

If you like, you can download and use the basic pattern here, but feel free to use your imagination to create exotic bears, ballet bears, football bears… anything that takes your fancy.

There will be information in the New Year about how to donate your bears, but in the mean time, please start knitting. Every bear will be welcome.

Monthly Benefice Communion

This short, quiet service of Holy Communion (without hymns) takes place on the second Thursday of each month at 9.30 am at St Matthew’s Church, Midgham and will include prayers for all the Benefice. All welcome.

Time to Pray

This 30-minute service, which includes prayers for the day and intercessions, takes place on every Thursday – except second Thursdays – at 9.30 at Aldermaston, followed by coffee.
